Dana Wharf has scheduled the next 4-hour Pelagic Bird Watching Tour on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 1p-5p. Leading this tour is David Pereksta, Pacific Region Avian Biologist and the avian expert in BOEM’s Pacific Region. Before coming to BOEM in 2010, he spent 16 years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service working on the conservation and recovery of threatened and endangered species along the Pacific coast, and 3 years with the U.S. Forest Service surveying, monitoring and managing forest bird species in the Sierra Nevada. He has spent hundreds of days observing birds at sea and around the world. This is the perfect outing for the beginning birder, the expert, or for anyone who just loves the longer adventure.
