Dana Outrigger Ocean Challenge 2024

Gather with fellow paddlers for a memorable day on the water at the 35th annual Ocean Challenge, hosted by Dana Outrigger Canoe Club. Whether you’re racing the 10-mile Long Course or the 5 -mile Short Course, the event promises a perfect blend of competition and good fun. We are often told that the Dana Ocean Challenge is one of the favorite events of the Winter Race Series. Let the spirit of the camaraderie and the beauty of the harbor make this event truly special. The 2024 Dana Outrigger Ocean Challenge takes place outside the harbor in the open ocean.

LATE / RACE DAY REGISTRATION INCREASES TO $40 PER PADDLER

Short Course will have staggered starts for SUP, Paddleboard, Canoes and Surf Skis. Exact order of start will be announced at pre-race meeting. The race course may change based on prevailing conditions of the day. Awards will be given for every Division with at least three (3) entries. Please verify and remember the division you are entering for the Dana Outrigger Ocean Challenge.

Dana Point Harbor guidelines require all children under 12 on SUP to wear life vests. Should conditions dictate, leashes may be required on both short course and long course. Competitors should be prepared. Long Course and Short Course competitors must have PFD’s. The only exception that will considered will be for Prone / Paddleboard excepted)
$35 Pre-race online paid registration, $40 day of race registration / online through Paddle Guru. Registration includes lunch, t-shirt and the potential for awards! Act quickly…the later you register may impact our ability to guarantee you a T-Shirt, or one at your desired T-shirt size.
