Feeling the Burn Fitness and Wellness Event

August 12, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for a moms-only morning of pouring into yourself, nurturing your health and wellbeing, and building out your village with other amazing moms from our community. After almost 4 years of raising two littles ones and wishing for more connection and community with other moms, I decided to create the kind of event we all deserve.

My goal is to bring moms together to get us at least a little bit closer to having the “village” people always say it takes to raise a child. Because at the very least, I know moms benefit from having a network to lean on…and also from some R&R!

This event will feature a full cardio barre class, led by Orange County Personal Fitness Trainer Jordan McClanahan, as well as an empowering discussion and Q&A on burnout & the mental load of motherhood, led by Psychology PhD and relationship expert Dr. Morgan Cutlip.

We’ll also have B12 shots, green juices, snacks & drinks, raffle items moms will love, and plenty of time to relax, mingle, and recharge to your best self.

Follow along on Instagram to see as more details roll out. https://www.instagram.com/ourownvillage/

Hosted by Our Own Village (creator Elle Black).

A little more about the collaborators:

Jordan McClanahan is a local fitness trainer, queen of quick and effective workouts, and an all around badass with two young boys and a girl on the way. She’ll be leading us in a total body workout with a focus on cardio, sculpt and stretch. It’ll combine elements of ballet barre with light weights to strength and tone. We’ll finish off with pilates and yoga for core strength and flexibility. This is designed for all levels, and modifications will be offered.

Dr. Morgan Cutlip is an expert in the mental load of motherhood, burnout, and relationships. She has over 150k followers on Instagram, was just featured on Good Morning America, and shares incredibly relatable and practical advice and tips in regards to lessening the mental load of motherhood, communicating your needs, and taking care of yourself no matter how busy you are. Her upcoming book, “Love Your Kids Without Losing Yourself: 5 Steps to Banish Guilt and Beat Burnout When You Already Have Too Much To Do” pretty accurately sums up what I know many of us are struggling with and trying to navigate these days!
