FREE disaster preparedness training. The CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program provides training on how to prepare and respond to emergencies or hazards such as earthquakes, fire and floods.

The cities of Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, and San Clemente are combining efforts in CERT training under a Tri-Cities concept!

This program will consist of 10-12 hours of online, self-paced training, followed by 2 days of hands-on training at the City of San Juan Capistrano.

Participants will learn how to safely use a fire extinguisher, administer basic disaster first aid, perform light search and rescue, and more. At the end of the training, participants will have the opportunity to practice the skills they’ve learned in a disaster simulation.

The online training portal is open now through April 22nd. Hands-on training will be held from 8am to 4pm on Saturday, April 23rd and Saturday, April 30th.

Participants must be 18 years or older to enroll in this training program. Participants must also complete the online training to participate in the hands-on portion.
