Yamilla Samara is a marine biologist who just graduated from her masters program at the Shark Lab at Cal State Long Beach. Born and raised in Nicaragua she came to the US in 2016 to obtain her bachelors in marine biology. Yamilla started working with sharks and studying their diet as an undergraduate in a shark lab at Florida International University and upon graduating worked for a year as a lab technician. In 2020 she made the move to California and began her masters in white shark diet under the mentorship of Dr. Chris Lowe. Yamilla will be moving to Texas in August to start her PhD in marine biology.
