Ray Hiemstra has spent the last twenty-two years at Orange County Coastkeeper working to preserve, protect, and restore coastal and inland water quality and habitat. As Associate Director of Programs, his work includes water quality advocacy, policy development, Marine Protected Areas, species and habitat restoration, and water monitoring. Ray is a member of numerous committees and workgroups including the California Water Monitoring Council and Newport Bay Management Committee. He is a lifelong resident of Orange County and spends his spare time working with community groups or outdoors with his family and friends.

Orange County Coastkeeper will give a presentation on their work to protect swimmable, drinkable, and fishable water and promote watershed resilience throughout the area. This includes programs to support Marine Protected Areas, Eelgrass and Oyster restoration, trash pickups, a watershed education program, and legal enforcement. Join us to learn more and how you can participate in their work to protect our marine and freshwater resources!
