Shop Small® is a movement that supports small, independent businesses and spotlights their valuable contributions to their communities and the economy. By shopping locally and small, you are making an investment in your community all while supporting your friends and neighbors.

The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce’s Loyal to Local Holiday Shopping Campaign features our unique local businesses and encourages shoppers to think local all holiday season long. Visiting local businesses keeps more money in the local economy, strengthens local jobs, and helps the environment while also shaping the character and personality of the community. The holiday passport program kicks off on November 15 and continues through January 4.

Be sure to pick up/take your passport with you while you shop in the neighborhood. When you make a purchase at any of the listed businesses, you will receive a special stamp in your passport equal to the amount of your purchase. Collect enough stamps to fill the passport and submit your passport to the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce for a chance to win weekly prizes and a grand prize package. There’s no limit to the number of passports you can submit – and the earlier you submit, the more chances you have to win!

The Shop Small movement was inspired by the widespread participation in Small Business Saturday®, a day founded by American Express in 2010 on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Now a national holiday, Small Business Saturday is dedicated to celebrating small businesses by helping to drive more customers through the doors of retail stores, restaurants, fitness studios, salons — and everything in between.
